CASTINE TOURS

You can tour Castine on land or on the water, while relaxing or while engaged in a physical activity.

The Castine Visitor Center is located on the town dock, in a brick building at the top of the parking area. It is open Memorial Day through September:
MONDAY – SATURDAY, 9a–4p and SUNDAY, 12–4p / Castine Town Dock, Sea Street / Castine, Maine
It is a wonderful introductory stop for visitors to the area, providing maps and other information to help curate your experience.

  • Castine Cruises

    Cruise the Bagaduce, explore Smith Cove, and relax on Castine Harbor on a 45– or 90–minute cruise, with new friends or a private charter. Also offers drop off and pick up service to Holbrook Island, where you can enjoy a picnic or walk the trails of Holbrook Island Sanctuary.

  • Castine Historical Society

    The Historical Society offers the complimentary Castine Uncovered Walking Tours, a fun, informative, outdoor learning experience that delves into both the beauty and the historical significance of Castine. Also provides context for the town's architecture and famous Elm trees.

  • Castine Kayak Adventures

    Offering daily availability for three sea kayak tours: mornings, which are calmer so comfortable for beginners; afternoons, which can be bit more exciting; and evenings, designed for bioluminescent and star gazing. Also offers a special tour to experience the fireworks from the water on the 4th of July.

  • Castine Touring Company

    Experience the town with a local guide, riding in comfort on one of two electric carts for 60–90 minutes, exploring the entire perimeter of Castine’s peninsula – from the dock to the lighthouse, from the northernmost corner of the harbor to Maine Maritime Academy at the top of the hill. Visit historic forts, quintessential coastal Maine summer homes, The Wilson Museum, historic inns and churches, and much more. Also dog–friendly for animals comfortable in your lap or at your feet.
